All the makeup brushes you need…and how to actually clean them
Okay let’s be real beauty babes: you don’t need those 40+ brushes sitting on your makeup vanity. In fact, just like the average makeup user, you’re probably reaching for the easiest 5-7 brushes that make or break your look.
That’s why, in this post, we’re pulling a true Mikayla Nogueira decluttering episode and we’re giving you the best and cutest brushes that you ACTUALLY need (and how to clean them)
Fun (but also kind of disgusting) Fact: 72% of women admit to never, like really ever, cleaning their makeup tools…
Here are our contestants
1.Royal Cosmetics Signature Collection Foundation and Concealer Brushes
These are the beauty darlings of our beauty community: affordable, cute, easy to use and just perfect for your everyday look.
They’re here to make your life easier by giving you a flawless and dewy base lasting all day, every day.
2.Morphe Bamboo and Charcoal Face Shaping Set
The ultimate IT Girl brushes of the internet: Morphe is getting back in the game, and they did not miss with this set.
Elegant, fancy yet affordable, and pink, they are everything you need for an everyday elevated look with their innovative shape.
(Did we mention that they’re pink?!)
3.Real Techniques Artist Essential Brush Kit
There’s a reason why these babies are always sold out.
They’re super beginner friendly, have every single brush you need and blend products effortlessly into your skin.
Bonus point: they don’t break the bank.
Time for some real talk…
Spoiler alert: you do not need those fancy silicone mats or tiny washing machines (even though they’re cute) to clean your makeup tools.
Here’s what you’re going to do to avoid bacteria buildup and skin breakouts:
- Hold the brush bristles down under lukewarm water
- Use a gentle cleanser on your palm and swirl the bristles in circular motions (GENTLY)
- Rinse until clear
- Squeeze out excess water and reshape with your fingers
- Lay them out flat on a towel until they’re dry
And voila!!! Because hoarding your brushes and not taking care of them is just not how we do it at the Beauty Spot.
That’s all for this week…
XOXO,
The Beauty Spot <3
